2. Check if you have a car app on your Smartphone
This might not apply to every model, but more and more cars are starting to come with connected apps which allow you to remotely monitor your vehicle’s performance. If your car has an app that does this, then be sure to download it in case you find yourself in a sticky situation.
3. Do not contact the emergency services unless necessary
It may be tempting to report this as an emergency in the heat of the moment, but in many cases, this would accomplish nothing other than wasting time. If there is a pet, child, or a vulnerable person of any age trapped inside, then that is another matter entirely. Even in this instance, however, a quick locksmith will likely be able to help on short notice, and without breaking any windows in the process.
